Hi Al,
yes we do, but they were set up only after the 98 riots, so they have no idea where to begin loooking for my ancestors. I'm 5th generation born in Indonesia and the records I'm looking for in Zhangzhou would be those of around 1800. I've heard that it's not easy getting those records now as the place has a military base now. I've read about places around Zhangzhou that has a Lin shrine or ancestral hall but I'm not sure they are from our line of Lins.

: Do you have a local Lim Association? They may have records about your ancestor.

: : I have read somewhere that there is an office in Xiamen/Amoy that can help people find their ancestral village. Can anyone help with their contact address/phone/fax/e-mail? I'm trying to find out where my ancestor came from. So far we know he was from Zhangzhou area but we need more detail.
