Charlie Hing

I am looking for information on my Great Great Grandfather who was known as Charlie Hing. I don't know what his proper chinese first name was just that he was Charlie. He was extremely tall, about 6ft 6in.
He married an Irish lady (name unknown). I don't know a lot about him but he did have at least one daughter Margaret Hing.He emmigrated to New Zealand and ran a lot of different businesses in Auckland. He was born in China and was apparently half Chinese, Half Japanese. Family history has it that his father was a Japanese soldier and that Charlie was the result of rape. He was smuggled out of China to England where he lived before eventually moving to New Zealand.
Any help anyone can give me would be wonderful as I really don't know much about him at this point.
