Like you I am also interested to locate where was the origin of our family name ALIGNAY. By the way, I am a Filipino. I am from the clan of Victoriana C. Alignay (my great grandmother). I am a child of Benzaib S. Alignay Sr; he's the son of Basilio C. Alignay (my grand father) of Tagapo Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Last April 1988, we had a grand family reunion of Alignay in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The organizer of that reunion was Romualdo Alignay the son of Uncle Ruben Alignay and our grand father's brother Lolo Constancio C. Alignay.
I will try to send you again some information about the origin of our family whenever I talk to my Lola Lydia Alignay - Cosio in the Philipines.
Right now, I am staying here in Anguilla British West Indies. I am married to a British-American man. We have a little baby girl name Lenimae Lydia Arambulo Alignay Webster. She born last 25 August 2000.
I wish you all the best. God bless you and our family.
