Dear Mr. Kwan

You may wounder to get an answer from such an unexpected place.
I'm a hobbygenealogist from frankfurt germany
and my wife is a born Kwan meaning "closed"
her father moved from Quandong to thailand before second worldwar. I'm not sure about exactly homeplace and we cannot ask him because he is no more in good mood.
The pronouncation is like chekan
But I've got a copy of a familybook which reachs back to beginning of Northern Song in 960
Because of old chinese writing it's very difficult for me to find out informations, because I never learnt chinese.
I've nearly finished timetable in mainroot but there is a lot of more informations.
From the placenames I find until yet is that family of my father in law maybe comes from a
small village named Da le cun near Quangzhou.
But other placenames in the family-roots describe Nanhai, gugang, jiujiang on yangtse, shannan, tingzhou
and others near coast opposite Taiwan.
Maybe I can find your connection in these roots.
Feel free to give me some informations about your ancestors not described in your note.
So if you still can read old chinese I can mail you some copies. My translation will maybe take too long time.

With kind regards

W. Kratzer [email protected]
