Hey,

Just been doing a little research into Cheung surname too, as I'm a Cheung! I'm also a British Born Chinese (BBC as they sometimes call it) and found this link:

http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~chinesesurname/s024.html

It speaks for itself but I thought it was interesting how old the origin name (Zhang) is: 4700 years! Apparently we invented bows as well.

I used to go out with a BBC girl with the last name Cheung too. Your girlfriend isn't from Liverpool and called Maria by any chance is she??

Anyway let me know how you get on. Oh there's also an association for people called Cheung. No I'm serious! I saw it one time on a site but can't remember where it is now, but I do remember it was in London on Old Compton St. Maybe you could give them a bell.

Hope this helps in some way.

Take it easy and sleazy Cheesy!
