: Hwang Chung is a village in Xinhui County as you stated so completely. It is a village of about 3000 with many industrial projects in the area. My village is just north about 50 km away. I have relatives from this area. There are cemeteries there in recent times. In the olden days you are seeking in the l9th century, there were proivate buriels in neaby mountains. If you have relatives the graves most likely will be looked after every year at Ching Ming.I do have a map of Xinhui County and it is all in Chinese. If you planned to visit you can get maps when you get to Hong Kong. I prsumerd that you are in Australia. If you are living in a city with a good number of Chinese population, you can try to contact the Kong Chow Association which is the association of Xinhui ancestry.If I could be of further help you can tact me
re: since you are member of the overseas community,you might want to visit this book.Its obviuosly an older book,but one that might help you out with your journey. Sailing to the Sun,published and financed by Hawai'i National Bank. The actual authors did it jointly with the bank.There is a whole world at your finger tips right there,especially since you are interested in a time and place that tremoundously affected many english speaking countries.In it of interest to most enthusiasts is the photos of the individuals that the charlie chan movies are based on. Not to mention,the guy that became filthy rich and then some showing many English speaking guys how to do the sugar cane.So that the plant gave up the juice and could become sugar.Take away that development,many countries would have industrialized some 5,maybe 6 decades later.Good example would be,United Kingdom,Denmark,Italy and so on.
My grandfather moved from Canton province.In mainland China.My journey is obviously different from yours,however,when you get some unreal notes you and I can exchange notes.Unlike you,my background is not so cryptic.It was easier for me to interview some older relatives at the appropriate time.Now is not that time and place,when I did it was in my high school years.
