May 14,03 follow-up. Now I know the purpose
of this. I tried to find the data for the
Ang genealogy since 4 generation ago but it
is buried somewhere.
From memory I know that Ang Tjoei ( ang meaning
flood and water) orginally came in the 19th
century with his brother and armed with swords
It took 7 months from Amoy to land in the
North west of Java( At that time the Banten
kingdonm was the most prosperous) Thai's it
for now

Follow up May.2003. Of course if you know
Chinese, the surname ANG is pronounced in
the Fukien dialect. In Mandarin and Cantoneseit would be
Hoong or Hung and our infamous predecessor is Hung Siew
Chuen, the rebel who started the Boxing rebellion during the last
chinese dynasty the Ching Dynasty ( sorry I cannot
navigate in the Pin-Yin spelling and use the Wade-Giles spelling

Fukien ( Hokkian in Fukienese) is of course
in one of the southern provinces of China, next to
Canton( From ow on I will be writing as if nobody
knows anything about china and the Ang surname

Most of the Angs are in the Phillipines,Singapore
Malaysia and Indonesia. In Hongkong and Taiwan and
mainland China they call themselves Hoong or Hung,
in singapore ,Malaysia and Indonesia mostly Ang
By the way surname Ang mean Flood but can also mean Great
When I joined the Internet in 2001 I was Victorang
no.9 ( 2 in Singapore, 2 in the phillipines but apparently
there are now over a few thousand ( guesstimate).
If somebody cleverer than me can sonstruct a website, it
would greatly benefit our Ang Clan. Please conme forward
