The surname "Lyn" is also found listed as "Ling" which, I understand, is how the Cantonese will pronounce it. The Lyn's, as far as I know, came from Southern China, as other Hakkas. Lyns can be found in Hong Kong and around the New Territories, as well as in the States, Canada, UK.....Heck, as far as Chinese traditions go, they all originated from the same village, "Li Luong" or "Lee Luong".
Good luck in your search.

: : : I am trying to find out about my family history. I can not find any traces of the Lyn-Kee-Chow family. We were Hakka that immigrated to Jamaica, West Indies. I would like to know more about this name.

: : : A. Lyn-Kee-Chow

: : I recently married a Jamaican whose Father is Chinese and last name is LYN. I'm trying to find information on this surname, origin, etc
