Before you go, bring the names of your grandfather, great-grandparents with you. Many of the ancestral halls are separate or at the school. If you're able to locate your grandfather's house, check for the ancestral listing if available or the upper floor may have it. It looks like a family altar, incense, food offerings, red candles on a table and a framed red/green/yellow listing. Take a few photos with the calligraphy focused. If you find your grandfather's village, ask about the family house. Be aware that someone in the village may pose as an imposter for a red envelope, "Lay See." Some houses may be locked up, so you'll have to see if a relative or other has the keys. Correction:my visit to grandma was 1994. Thumbs up on your efforts.
