Is there anyone out there who might be able to clear up
confusion over how to determine which generation I am.
Both my parents were born in China and immigrated to
Canada in the 1950's. My sisters and I were born in Canada.
So am I considered first generation or second? I've
heard different interpretations. Some feel that I am first
generation because I am the first generation born in
Canada. Others say I am second - my parents being the
first generation to settle in Canada.
