From what I understand the origin of Joson comes from the Chinese name of "HO" and when it was Filipinized it became "son of Ho" and eventually it became Joson. I think you should research on the Joson's of Nueva Ecija as its roots came from that province. I also met some Joson's of bataan and they are Chinese looking (or chinky eyed) as compared to the one that came from Nueva Ecija. The Joson's from Bataan claims that its roots comes from Nueva Ecija also.

happy hunting!
: I stumbled on this website while searching for the origins of my surname, which is Joson (pronounced as Ho-son). I have been wondering if that surname carries with it some Chinese origins. My father and I can easily be mistaken for Chinese but any evidence to verify our lineage has since disappeared.

: I hope you may be able to point me to the right direction.

: Thank you.
