I am in the same boat as you. My grandfather was also a labourer in the plantations in Samoa. He was taken back to China around 1940. My mother was born in 1930 and said her dad was taken back to China when she was 9 or 10 years old. My grandfather name was Ah-Chew. I don't know where he was born in China, but probably from the same place your grandfather came from. My grandmother's name is Fale Matofa Tavana, your grandmother might know her. If she does, she might know my grandfather too. Please let me know and keep in touch. I am still doing some research and you keep doing yours, we might find our grandfathers yet. They might be at the same village in China.
