I dont know if we are related, but my maidem name is Lum. My grandfather was Buck Chin Lum from the island of Oahu, in Hawaii. I know he was from China, and supposly from a village there called Yan-dui meaning the "smokestack village". I dont know if any of this means anything to you, but you never know! I'd love to learn more about my family so I thought I might as well inquire. If it does, please let me know!

: Any more "woods" out there? Our Lem family came originally from Low Hong Fook village, Sun Wui county, Sze Yap district, Canton (Guangdong) province, mainland China. Grandfather came to U.S. in 1894, was in San Francisco until after 1906 (lived through the earthquake), Sacramento, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and finally Tucson AZ in 1917. He was a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. Grandfather had a "first family" in China, and one son emigrated to Hawaii while another went to Hong Kong after his mother died in the 1920's during warlord incursions/famine. I have a lot of material and am willing to share, just e-mail me.
