My surname is Bu; which literally means cloth. In cantonese, its Poh. My grandfather once told me that my ancestors are from a northern part of china or somewhere near mongolia. He also said that our ancestors moved to Guang Dong Province only during the past 500 years.

I have asked many chinese, and they have mentioned that i have a very rare surname, and that i might not belong to the Han chinese. Is this true? What is the origin of my surname? Can anyone help?
