Yes there does appear to be a concentration of Tees in Muar. Most of my family is still there. The Tee surname isn't so common in Australia- where my immediate family is. My surname is written 'Tee', but I have cousins who have it written 'Teh'. The surname is pronounced "Tee", so I suspect it might also be the difficulty in romanization that contributes to some of the variation in surnames.

On another note, do you find that most families still use 'generation names'? Did this practice apply to the whole Tee clan at some stage or just individual families?

Please send me an email if you can!

thanks
