Dear Serene,
My family name is TING. We are Foochows. Most of my family and relatives residing in Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri of Sarawak, Malaysia.
I would like to add onto David's note. The pronounciation of Ting is in Foochow which is written as Chen (Mandarin) or Chan (Cantonese) or Tan (Hockien). All is written the same as Chen.
