All I know of my grandma's birth place is from bad English handwriting on a photocopied document. It looks like something like "Sin Ning Dist.", Canton, China. Can anyone tell me if such a name exists or if it approximates some other name? Perhaps it needs to be translated to Mandarin. How do I even begin looking on a map when I can't read Chinese?? Anway, she immigrated to Burma in the 1940s (I think) before moving to Canada, where she lived a long life. My grandfather was born in Taishan, Canton, China, which is a lot easier to figure out. It's just grandma's mystery village that I'm dying to find out. Please help?
