I believe that the "ah" would just be a sound like English "um" and his last name would be "tuni" but it's unusual for Chinese surnames to have 2 syllables. It's not one of the 2 syllable surnames I recognize. Have you been to his grave? Usually the name and village of the deceased would be on the gravestone.
