Hi, I've been trying to find some more info about my grandfather, whose name was Ong Wah. He was born in 1882 in Hoyping China, the son of Ong Yuen Chong and his wife Cheng. Ong Wah immigrated to Vancouver, Canada sometime around 1910 or perhaps earlier..He married my grandmother, an Englishwoman named Clara Helen Haynes, on September 5, 1912. He may have died in Toronto Canada of the Spanish influenza sometime in 1918. I would appreciate any info anyone may have. Doris Ray

: : I just happened on this website. My grandfather came from Hoiping around the turn of the last century. His name was Ong Foon. My dad was also George Ong or Ong Wah Lun - he was the eldest son and born in San Francisco in 1913or 1914. He went back to our village in the early 80's and found an elderly lady who recited my grandfather's name and his children who were born in the U.S. I regret that I do not have any other information about my ancestors.

: Hi, George. My family on my father's side is from Hoiping. I don't have a lot of information on my ancestry, either, but you and I may be distantly related. I will try to send you an email with the details.
