Hi! My mother's father is also from Fujian and is also a Zeng. I successfully traced my relatives there and if you are interested I can give you the address of the ancestral village of the Chan/Zeng in Jinjiang China. Just give me your email address and I can scan my cousin's letter and send it to you. The village name is Eni in Hokkien-Jinjiang but is also pronounced as Gu Dian or Emperor's Carriage. It is situated in Ti Tiam (rice mill) town, Jinjiang city...near Quanzhou.

: I'm really interested in finding out about my ancestors but my family can't help right now. Was hoping someone out there knows something.
: My surname is Chan and it's Zeng1 in Mandarin. To my knowledge, my ancestors should have come from Fujian since I'm Hokkien. So now, I'd just llike to know if there're any Chans/Zengs out there. Also, since Chan is usually thought of as Cantonese, I was wondering if there might have been a mistake in the recordings of my ancestors' names. I don't think so but I don't really know at this point.

: Please help.
