thank you Al Chinn for your clues. Are sam or lock an usual surname or personal name? is it cantonese? and any idea about their meaning? I did a search but seem to find any of them in the list of chinese surnames (well not in the same spelling, for lock I found "lok" so am not sure if it's he same).
My gf gave his children a 'chinese firstname', along with western one: "Ah Tion", "Ah hime" for example. what do they mean?
