My name is Audrey Gwendolyn Leiola Lum Ho Onishi. I live in Houston, Texas and my maiden name is Lum Ho. My Dad was Joseph Lum Ho, without the hyphen, and one of his brothers was Obed Lum Ho, again, without the hyphen. I was adopted by the Lum Ho's, my biologial mother was their daughter Winona Lani. I remember almost all of Daddy's brothers because I was born and raised on Maui. Daddy was married to Elizabeth Lum Ho, the Hula Teacher.Uncle Obed was married to Aunty Alice and their children are Stanley(Peachy), now deceased, Lulu, Nohea(deceased),Junior, Karen, Wally,and the youngest, DeAnne. I imagine you must be one of the grandchildren of my above mentioned cousins. Ask Karen or DeAnne and I am sure that they will tell you who I am. Both DeAnne and I went to Baldwin High School in the 50's.
From what I understand of the name, most of the Lum Ho's are related to the Lum Fees and the Lum Uns but those relatives dropped the second half of their names and now only go by Lum. I have forgotten what the whole name means. We are also related to the Lam Ho's. That is Uncle Kwong Wan's family on Oahu from the Kahaluu area. His wife was Aunty Inga. She was Norwegian.
