Surnames I am researching are Won, Chan, Owyang and Jang, primarily immigrated from Zhongshan Province, China around the late 1800's-early 1900's, and settle in San Francisco and Walnut Grove areas. Additional Comments regarding my Chinese family surname of Owyang. My grandmother Law Jook Yee was born in Sacramento, California, in 1881, and her sisters and brothers born in Courtland, from 1874 through 1893. My father Patrick Chun Owyang was born on the Sol Runyon Ranch in Vorden, California, in 1905. His Owyang siblings, a total of seven in the Man Yet Owyang family, a farm laborer and share cropper on Grand Island, were born from 1900 through 1912. I have gathered all of this information from NARA, San Bruno, from Immigration Service records
I have found ancestors at the Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, California. Would like to have any interested parties seeking information about similar time and regional background, to send e-mail. I am originally from Oakland, California. My parents left the Delta River area of Locke around 1927 and moved to S.F. then to Oakland around 1933-34.
