Hi all, while my surname is spelt as kiong, it is pronounced as Gong in chinese. It is written with a Dragon character and a gong below it. My grandfather used to tell me that we are Manchurians, not Han people. And also our surname used to be Hong, that was when the Manchurian empire. Apparently due to corrupted officials, our whole family line were to be executed, therefore all the nine brothers split with different surnames.. and Gong was one of them. That is all I know, so hoping to find some truth in it. Thanks. I am from Singapore.
