As Al Chinn has mentioned, you'll eventually need to locate your own Tan family clan generation poem. However, for now your father has already given you your generational name Beng. Assuming that you take the name Huat as your given name, then your Chinese name will become Tan Beng Huat. I shall leave it up to the experts to provide the Chinese characters to the name.....and the meaning of Beng.
