Hi, I am also a teochew, my grandad was from shantou, its also in guandong, so i guess teo chew people basically came from guandong. I know besides being good entrepreneurs, the teo-chew people have made quite a name in underground societies. The largest triad asscociation in Hong Kong Sun yee Onn, is said to be founded by teo-chews. In shanghai during the early years, teo-chew people controlled most of the turfs there. In taiwan, few months back one of the biggest triad heads there just passed away, he was a teo-chew too and he was only 5 feet short!! One of the main reasons teo-chew people dominates the underground scene is because they are very united and it is rumored that we can fight really well. :)
