: Trying to trace ancestors back to China. Ong (king) is written by three horizontal lines split in the middle by a vertical line. Also known as Wang, Wong, Huang. My grandfather's name is Ong Han Ping; he was born in Semarang, Indonesia around 1916 and worked as a bookkeeper in the seaport of Semarang for a prominent Chinese trader.

Good Afternoon Aryani,

It appears to be the same character as our family. I do not know enough about my family history, but I do know that my grand father, Ong Kim Tong emigrated to Indonesia. My father, Ong Kieng Hoat was born on sulawesi, but brought up in Dutch New Guinea, He has been digging for information as well. So if you are interested, you can cantact me and I'll send you my fathers contact info.

with regards.
