I am not aware of "coat of arms" associated with specific Chinese family clans. This is more of an European custom. As for your friend's "Mach" surname, this is how the Chinese in Vietnam Anglicized the spelling of the Chinese family clan name m (written in traditional Chinese). This surname is commonly spelled as "Mak" in Cantonese. Nonetheless, you should check to ensure that your friend's Chinese surname is written the same as m. If so, check out the following Chinese genealogy website http://www.legacy1.net/index.html Here the webmaster and associates are researching several Chinese surnames, one of which is Mak, but I think what information they have on Mak has yet to be compiled for reader consumption.
