My great-grandmother was named Go Hock Shia. From family accounts, she was the daughter of the Economic Minister of the Province of Fujian. She married and ran away with my great-grandfather Don Nicholas Chan and immigrated to the Philippines. Now according to family talk, she was royalty as government positions were only occupied by royalty. She passed away around 1979/1980 and I think she was in her 90's at that time. Her feet were bound which according to my dad indicates her royal status. How can I verify this?
