Here is a long shot in your search for your father's ancestral village near Hong Kong. There is a village located in an area called New Kowloon. The village name is "Tai Koon Yuen (���V��)". This is the closest sounding village to the "Tai Pun" village that you mentioned. To confirm, you need to check out the Chinese characters for the village to see if it is the same village name. Anyway, hope this lead works out for you. If so, perhaps a trip to the village is in order. Best of luck in your search.
