Denmark Years (1817-1866):

1817 (birth) Record of Christen's birth and christening , part 1 (at the bottom of the page), in the Ydby, Thisted, Denmark, Parish church (Lutheran), 29 July 1817: FHL film# 053032, book 4, p. 4, item #8.
The record indicates that he was named Christen Christensen and initially home christened on the day of his birth, then subsequently formally christened at the church on 5 October 1817.

1845 (age 27+) Christen's marriage to Karen Lauritzdatter in Gettrup, Thisted, Denmark, 25 March 1845 (his age is listed as 27 3/4; hers as 18 1/2): Gettrup parish records, FHL film # 053056; Bk. 7; p. 14; entry # 3.

1865 (age 46+) Christen's L.D.S. baptism in Kobberod, Thisted, Denmark, 3 May 1865: taken from Virginia Christensen Keeler (1901-1970), Some Christensen's Who Came from Thy, published by J. Grant Stevenson, Provo, Utah, 1969, p. 151, based on documents in her possession at the time of writing the book.

Immigration (1866):

1866 (age 48+) Having departed Aalborg, Denmark, by water on 16 May 1866, to eventually reach Hamburg, Germany, via Copenhagen and Kiel (see Virginia Christensen Keeler (1901-1970), Some Christensen's Who Came from Thy, published by J. Grant Stevenson, Provo, Utah, 1969, pp. 174-178), the Christensen family left Hamburg on the British ship Kenilworth, 25 May 1866. Utah Years (1866-1899):

1866 (age 49) Christen's marriage to Ane Jensen, 17 November 1866, in Fountain Green, Sanpete, Utah: Taken from Virginia Christensen Keeler (1901-1970), Some Christensen's Who Came from Thy, published by J. Grant Stevenson, Provo, Utah, 1969, p. 217, based on documents in her possession at the time of writing the book.

1867 (age 50) Card Index to Military Records of the Indian Wars (Utah-Black Hawk Indian War), A-Z, indicating Christen's service in the Gunnison Home Guard as a Private in the Infantry ( page 181, volume 3): FHL film# 0485506.
However, since he did not arrive in Utah until October 1866 (as per the various documents above), the correct dates of service in this card index as well as in the Widow's Affidavit subsequently issued in 1909, page 180, volume 3 (see below, at the end of this document file) should read: 205 days, from 1 April 1867 to 1 November 1867. These dates would then correspond with his son's Laurs near simultaneous dates of service in the Manti Home Guard, found indexed immediately above in this document, page 180, volume 3 (also see Documents of Laurs/Lauritz or Lars Mathias Christian Christensen..., on this website).

1868 (age 51) Christen's TIB card for the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, showing his endowment date to have been 3 October 1868. As noted on the card, as well, he initially married Karen Lauritzen or Laursen, 25 March 1845, in Denmark, where he was also baptized on 3 May 1865: FHL Film# 1059927.

1868 (age 51) Karen's TIB card for the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, showing the date of her sealing to Christen to have been 5 October 1868. The correct date of sealing, however, should read 3 October 1868, as is referenced in the extraction of the original sealing record, below. As noted on this TIB card, as well, she was endowed on 14 November 1888 [Manti] and was initially baptized 1 May 1865, in Denmark: FHL Film# 1234521

1868 (age 51) Anne's [Ane's] TIB card for the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, showing her endowment date to have been 3 October 1868. As noted on the card, as well, she was initally baptized into the Church on 9 Feb 1861; the place however is not known at present: FHL Film# 1059926.

1838 (birth) Record of Ane's birth (marked in yellow) in the Vor, Hjorring, Denmark, parish (Lutheran) on 28 May 1838: (Alboek-) Vor, Hjorring, Denmark 1833-1852, FHL film# 048943, book 15, p. 61, item #8.
Born on 28 May 1838, the record indicates that she was named Ane Jensdatter and was born out of wedlock. Her mother was Marianne Christensdatter from Westerkov. The reported father was Jens Christensen from Vester Nielsted, Tolstrup's parish. Ane was subsequently christened in the Vor parish on 10 June 1838.

1861 (age 22+) Record of Anne's [Ane's] initial baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 9 February 1861, as recorded on her TIB card. Unfortunately, the precise place of baptism, which took place in Denmark before her immigration, is not known at present: FHL film# 1059926.
