Photograph of Henry Pearce, received in June 1997 from V. John Squibb, of Weymouth, Dorset, England, a descendant of Matilda Pearce Hatcher, Henry's daughter. In an accompanying letter, John explained that this photograph was created in the United States (sometime "in the 1880's when photography was just beginning," through the auspices of Henry's son Charles, living in Philadelphia at the time, evidently from a photo originally taken in England) and hung in the parlor of his aunt, Miss Nora Hatcher, for many years. This image is a flash photo of the original photograph.
