1796 Marriage certificate for Mary Waslin's parents Christopher Waslin and Ann Nelson, married by banns, 23 November 1796, in the parish of Hessle, Yorkshire, England. Documentation was found in the Hessle Parish Records; 1710-1750; PE194/18[1]; No. 37, searched at the East Riding Archives Office, County Hall, Beverley, England, HU17 9BA. (Elaine Harris and Sue Laing located the record in June 1996, on a genealogical research trip for the ABC/SJB Family Foundation, and had this certificate created.)

1810 Affirmation of Mary's birth date, 15 July 1810 [the year 1811 listed on this record, however, should read 1810, as is confirmed by the christening date entry record which follows next] as shown on the Record of Members, Hull Branch, Yorkshire, England, 1844-1857, for Mary and her husband John, member numbers 218 & 219: FHL film # 0087004.

1832 Marriage to John Edward Metcalf, 23 December 1832, Sculcoates Marriage Records, 1831-1837, PE46/25[9], No. 303, pg. 135, East Riding Archives Office, County Hall, Beverley, England, HU17 9BA. It is to be noted that the marriage took place by banns, and that John Edward Metcalf signed his name, while Mary Waslin made her mark. (Elaine Harris and Sue Laing found this record in July 1996, on a genealogical research trip for the ABC/SJB Family Foundation, and had the certificate created.)

1843 Image of a certified copy of Mary's father, Christopher Waslin's death certificate. A labourer [farm worker], he died 8 November 1843 [at age 75, rather than the listed age of 66] in the workhouse at Beverley, York, England, of decay of nature. The certificate, DXZ 300174 was issued by the General Register Office, on 16 October 1995.
