Vic's Arrival in Australia

Vic stated that he left Denmark on the ship MS Asia in September 1923, arriving in Sydney, Australia, in April 1924 (he was then 20 years of age), and whilst he had originally intended to travel to Perth, Western Australia, he had already spent 7 months on the ship and didn't wish to spend another month at sea; so he remained in Sydney.

Australian National Archives records confirm that the ship actually departed Denmark in September 1922, arriving in Australia in 1923 (this ship did not visit Australia in 1924).  These records also confirmed that there was only one passenger on this ship when it arrived in Sydney, and this was not Vic/Viggo Christiansen (the passenger was a Dutch male).  These archive records also confirmed that a Danish crewman did not reboard the ship when it sailed from Sydney to Melbourne.

To the best of our knowledge, Vic had contacted his Danish family only once since leaving Denmark.
