Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery Transcription, Maries County, Missouri

Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery

Photographed by Richard Blankenship

Transcribed by Lucinda Blankenship

May 7, 2005

As we photographed and transcribed this cemetery we walked each row of stones from right to left, then the next row left to right, starting at the front of the cemetery.  We used the old transcription from 1983 as a starting point.  Some rows were not lined up correctly so we did the best we could to note that in the transcription.  If any errors appear it is due to the poor condition of the stones.  Some were extremely hard to read.  Some stones were broken.  There were errors and omissions in the earlier transcription and we hope those have been corrected now.  We noted the location in line where each fieldstone was placed this time rather than skipping over them.  There were several stones that were placed differently than where the original transcription placed them.  Those are noted with an asterisk.  New stone are also denoted with an asterisk as well.
