TO IRELAND

The old Moore homestead, 27 acres of rolling hills.
Hacketstown, County Carlow Ireland

The church at Knockananna where the Moores attended services, and marriages, baptisms and burials took place.
What remains of the old Moore farmhouse, dating back about 200 years. It has now been converted to a farm storage building.
Photo of John Murphy explaining the construction techniques, as well as how the original structure was configured. Some of the original rooms are no longer standing.

A plot of land down the road, where more simple structures once stood. Beneath the greenery you can barely see the remnants of what used to be some small thatched roof cottages, with parts of the stone walls remaining. There may have been 3 homes on this site at one time.
