Notes:

There a little mystery regarding the children of Florence Rippy. The 1900 Census indicates that he and Thomas have been married for 3 years, and she has given birth to only 1 child. Thomas' first wife, Martha, died in 1890. That said, on the death certificates for Walter, Martha and Leona, it is indicated that Florence Rippy was their mother. Did Thomas and Florence have children before getting married?  Did Thomas have a wife between Martha and Florence? From 1900 US Census for Township 12, Burlington, Alamance County, NC: Dwelling 124, Family 125 Florence indicates 1 child, 1 child living at census time.
