L. B. Windham, 67, a resident of Lawn since 1923, died at Hendrick Memorial
Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Friday. He had operated the Windham Grocery Co. at Lawn
for the past 18 years.
Mr. Windham had been in ill health for several years and his condition had
been serious since he suffered a heart attack in February.
He was born Nov. 8, 1880, in Brown County and married Tula Johnson 39 years
ago at Oplin.
Surivors are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Myrl O'Bar of Lawn; three sons, John
of Lawn, L. E. of McCamey, and Ralph Windham of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs.
Amanda Floyd of Tahoka, Mrs. Jim Phillips and Mrs. Homer Bowden, both of Byrds;
one brother, T. M. Windham of Byrds and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at the Lawn Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. W.
O. Perry, pastor of the church, will conduct the services, and burial will be in
the McBee Cemetery under the direction of Elliott's Funeral Home of Abilene.
Pallbearers will be J. C. Raper, Roy Grant, Luther Cannon, L. G. Haynes,
