Guardianship
Guardianship Orders for Alexander and Tabitha:

As shown below, in November 1803, Leonard Beall was appointed guardian to Alexander and Tabitha Beall, "infant Orphans of Richard Bell [Beall] Deceased." per Clark County, Kentucky Order Book 3, Page 237.

Subsequently, in May 1804, per Order Book 3, Page 301, presumably after Leonard had died, Margaret Beall was appointed guardian of Alexander and Tabitha.

Richard (along with Zachariah, Edward and Reason/Rezin) was a son of Leonard Beall and Eleanor Magruder. This conclusion is based on two things. First, there is a War of 1812 pension affidavit by Leonard Beall (son of Zachariah) in which Leonard stated that he and Alexander Beall were first cousins and that their fathers were brothers.

And, second, according to Clark County tax records, land that Richard acquired from his father was subsequently inherited by Margaret. See tax records this website. By these means, it is established that Margaret was the wife of Richard and thus the natural mother of Alexander and Tabitha.

One thing that may seem strange about the second order is that Margaret's bond was supported by Zachariah and Mabry Evans. While it seems natural for Zachariah to have supported the bond of his sister-in-law, it seems rather odd that Mabry Evans would have supported the bond. Zachariah was related to Mabry in that he was married to Mabry's sister, Nancy. However, the only known relationship between Mabry and Margaret was that Margaret was Mabry's sister's husband's brother's wife.

It seems strange that Mabry would have supported a bond for a relationship so distant--unless perhaps they were somehow otherwise more closely related. For example, if Margaret was an Evans, then the support by Mabry might seem natural. (Zachariah married an Evans. It is possible that Richard did also.)
