Richard Beall Heirs
Property sold by Heirs of Richard Beall:

Richard Beall died in 1884. Although it appeared from the way he bought and sold land that he must have been a rather well to do farmer/land owner, there were no probate of his holdings following his death. The reason appears to be that when he retired in the late 1860s, he sold all of his property except for a house in town which he and Jamima lived in after his retirement, and which she presumably continued to live in after his death.

However, a house in town was sold by the heirs of Richard Beall in 1891 to John Shuey for eight hundred dollars. It is assumed that this house must have been the house occupied by Richard and Jamima after his retirement and by Jamima after his death. The location of the house per the legal description was Lot eight in Block thirteen of Loughridge & Cassidy Addition to the City of Winterset, Iowa.

According to her obituary, Jamima was living with her son, Edward, and his wife, Hannah, at the time of her death. It seems likely that she moved in with Edward and Hannah or, perhaps, one of her daughters some time before the house was sold in 1891.

The heirs listed in this document were:

Charity Matthews and her husband, Robert (R.A.)
Susannah Hills and her husband, Abel (A.D.)
Rebecca McKibben and her husband, Gidion
Edward Beall and his wife, Hannah [Hircock]
Leonard (L.B.) Beall and his wife, Eliza (E.O.) [Guilliams]
Jamima Beall, widow of Richard Beall
