John Daellenbach
     Johannes Dällenbach (Junior) was born on 22 September 1876 in Steffisburg, Canton Bern, Switzerland.3 He was the son of Johannes Dällenbach and Elisabeth Lee Hodel.2 Johannes has also been reported as being born on 20 October 1876 in Oberhofen, Switzerland.4 He immigrated with his parents in 1882 to the United States of America.5 Later he went by the name John Daellenbach. John, age 23, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1900 Federal Census in Dorchester, Clark County, Wisconsin.6 Follow the link to see the census image. John married Bertha Woempener, daughter of Carl Woempener and Friederike (?), on 24 October 1907 in Dorchester.7 He was 28 years old; she was 24 years old. John and Bertha had at least 4 children. These children are Emil Frederick Gottfried, Conrad, Margret [Martha] and Rosa.
          John, age 31, and Bertha, age 28, were enumerated on the 1910 Federal Census in Mayville, Clark County, Wisconsin. Also enumerated in this household were their children, Emil (age 2) and Conrad (age 2 months). They own their farm "free."8 John worked as a farmer on a general farm.           John, age 43, and Bertha, age 38, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Dorchester Village, Clark County, Wisconsin. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Emil (age 11), Conrad (age 9), and Martha (age 8). Also living with them is Bertha's father, Carl Woempener.9 On the 1920 census, John is listed as a naturalized citizen. John worked as a dairy farmer who owns his farm "free."           John, age 52, and Bertha, age 48, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census in Mayville. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Conrad (age 20), Martha (age 17) and Rosie (age 5). Their other son, Emil, is living in Milwaukee. Bertha's father (Carl, age 85) also lives in this house. They own their farm but no value is listed. John is not a military veteran.10 John worked as a dairy farmer. Bertha died in 1948, leaving John a widower.11 Johannes was listed as a brother of Emil Daellenbach in the obituary published on 17 October 1948 in an unknown Great Falls Newspaper.           John died on 2 March 1964 in Abbotsford, Clark County, Wisconsin.13 He was 87 old. He and Bertha were buried at City of Abbotsford Cemetery in Abbotsford, Clark County, Wisconsin.14 His Social Security Number was 398-20-4562 and was issued in Wisconsin. According to the SSDI, his last residence was in Wisconsin.
