Fred Daellenbach
     Gottfried Dällenbach was born on 10 May 1879 Oberhofen, Switzerland.2 He was the son of Johannes Dällenbach and Elisabeth Lee Hodel.1 He immigrated with his parents in 1882 to the United States of America.3 After he immigrated, he was also known as Fred Daellenbach.4 See a picture of the Daellenbach family taken circa 1897. Gottfried, age 21, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1900 Federal Census in Dorchester, Clark County, Wisconsin. Gottfried, age 31, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1910 Federal Census in Mayville, Clark County, Wisconsin.4 Fred worked as a laborer on a farm.           Fred married Martha O. Steinke, daughter of Herman Steinke and Bertha Wuest, on 9 December 1913.6 He was 33 years old; she was 17 years old. Fred and Martha had at least 6 children. These children are Leona, Arnold, Luella Dora, Anita Olga Martha, Lorraine and Marguerite. He became a naturalized citizen in 1915.7
          Fred, age 39, and Martha, age 23, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Dorchester. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Leona (age 4 years 9 months), Arnold (age 3 years 6 months), Luella (age 2 years 3 months), and Martha (age 10 months). an unknown person and Elisabeth, Fred's parents, are also living there.7 Fred worked as a dairy farmer who works on his "own account."           Fred, age 49, and Martha, age 33, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census in Mayville. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Leona (age 15), Arnold (age 13), Luella (age 12), Anita (age 11), Lorraine (age 8), and Marguerite (age 6). They own their dwelling but no value is given. Fred is not a military veteran.8 Fred worked as a diary farmer. Follow the link to see the census image. Fred was listed as a brother of Emil Daellenbach in the obituary published on 17 October 1948 in an unknown Great Falls Newspaper. Click on the icon to read a transcription of the text.9
          Fred died on 7 January 1964.10 He was 84 old. His Social Security Number was 293-28-7396 and was issued in Wisconsin.2 According to the SSDI, his last residence was in Wisconsin.
