Emma Pliska, circa 1898

     Emma Beatrice Pliska was born on 4 August 1891 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.³ She was the daughter of Johann J. Pliska and Frances Dufek.¹ Follow the icon to see a picture of the Pliska family taken sometime after Frances (Dufek) Pliska died in 1894. Emma, age 9, was enumerated in the household of her father on the 1900 Federal Census in Omaha.¹ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Emma married Henry Van Haur, son of Frank Van Haur and Aloise Grund, on 11 November 1911 at the Justice of the Peace in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.⁴ She was 20 years old; he was 32. Emma and Henry had three children. These children are Louise Dorothy, Emma Ruth and Henrietta.
          In May 1917, Emma and Henry moved to Montana.⁴ Emma died on 18 June 1963 in Lewistown, Fergus County, Montana.⁴ She was 71 old. She was buried at Lewistown City Cemetery in Lewistown, Fergus County, Montana.⁴
