     Charles Ernest Baltzer was born on 15 July 1895 in Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa.^1,2 Charles served in the military during World War I.^1,3 Charles married Mary Katherine Sadil, daughter of Stanley Frank Sadil and Frances Mary Pliska, on 1 November 1922 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.¹ He was 27 years old; she was 17 years old.⁴ Charles and Mary had seven children. These children are Diane, Dorothy Mae, Myrtis Mary, Charles Sadil, Robert Merlin, Mari Lynn and Ronald Thomas.¹
          Charles, age 34, and Mary, age 24, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 3524 S. 20th Avenue in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Dorothy (age 6), Myrtis (age 3), and Charles (age 2). They own their house and they have a radio.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image.           Charles died on 20 December 1973 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.¹ He was 78 old. He was buried at Fort Whipple National Cemetery in Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona.¹
