The Genealogy of the Macke Family from Cincinnati, Ohio Hello, I just finished an update to this site. My main focus has been adding census images to the census sources. To see the census image, click on the source number on the bottom of the page. This will take you to the source page. Once there, click on the camera icon to view the image. NOTE: the images are large files (between 800 - 3000 KB) but they give additional insight into the family. Another new feature is the "charts page" which has linked pedigree and descendant charts for the Macke line. You will notice that some people have estimated birthdates with the words "circa" and "say." I use circa to indicate that there is a record (such as census) that I can use to base a year on. When I use the word say, it is almost a complete guess which may be very imprecise. I put the reason for my guess in the footnote. Our earliest known progenitor is Johann Leonard Macke. His son, Johann Clemens Macke, came to the U.S. between 1858 and 1864. He settle in Cincinnati, Ohio. I also wish to acknowledge the help of Julie Flammer who has given me a large amount of information included on the Macke family.
