The Genealogy of the Millslagle Family - Exhibit
"Jacob, with the aid of his father and brothers, constructed a large log home (not considered a large home by today's [1974] standards, but certainly no primitive cabin). I visited this log house in 1929 and noted its sturdiness even after its 129 years of existence. I climbed its stairs made of heavy hand hewn hardwoods and marveled at its large and sturdy fireplace still so solid and straight. But gone was the large porch which, until after my father's leaving of the family farm in 1902, extended entirely across the form of the house. My father born in 1869 lived in that house until he left Virginia in 1902 and during its later years the Concord Post Office was housed therein."
