Fred Phillip was born circa 1898 in Illinois.^1,2 He was the son of Thomas Phillips and Jessie Millslagel.³ Fred, age 22, was enumerated in the household of his grandmother, Anna, and grandfather, George W. Millslagel, on the 1920 Federal Census in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.⁴ Fred worked as a laborer. The type of industry is illegible.⁴ Follow the link to see the census image. Fred, age 32, was enumerated in the household of his grandparents, George W. Millslagel and Mrs. Anna (Jacques) Millslagle, on the 1930 Federal Census at 211 Cunningham Avenue in Peoria. Fred is a veteran of the World War, now known as World War I. Also living in this house is his suspected daughter, Shirley, age 6.⁵ Follow the link to see the census image. Fred is listed as the informant on George W. Millslagel's death certificate.⁶ He is the 4th great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
