Margery Wyngate was born in 1528 in Streatley, Bedfordshire, England.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Wyngate and Joan Porter.^4,5 Margery married Richard Norton (Senior), son of John Norton and Jane Cooper, in 1551 in Sharpenhoe, Bedfordshire, England.^6,7 Richard and Margery had 7 children but, only the names of 6 children are known. These children are: William, Daniel, Thomas, Elizabeth, Johane and Richard.^2,8 Margery died on 25 November 1572 in Streatley, Bedfordshire.^2,9 She was about 44 years old.
According to Scott Robinson, Margery is an ancestor of Abigail (Smith) Adams who was the wife of John Adams, America's second president. She is also an ancestor of John Quincy Adams, another president.¹⁰
