     Ross L Porter was born circa 1870 in Missouri.^2,3,4 Ross married Josie Caroline Millslagle, daughter of (?) Millslagle and (?) Kansas, circa 1894. He was 24 and she was 18.^2,5 Ross and Josie had at least 2 children. These children are Vena and Gladys.
          Ross, age 50, and Josie, age 43, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census at North Plano Road in Porterville, Tulare County, California. Also enumerated in this household were two daughters, Gladys (age 22) and Vena (age 20). They own their home without a mortgage.⁶ Ross worked as a farmer.⁶ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Ross, age 60, and Josie, age 54, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at Old Plano Road in Porterville Township, Tulare County, California. Also enumerated in this household was their daughter, Gladys (age 33). They own their farm which was valued at $3000. They do not have a radio.
