Sarah Trotter was born circa 1853 in Illinois.^2,3,4 Sarah married (?) Millslagle. Sarah was 14 at her first marriage. I do not know if it was to Mr. Millslagle or another man.^5,1 Sarah and (?) may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Nevada B.. On 23 May 1912, she received her land patent as a "Homestead entry - stock raising" for land located in Quay County, New Mexico.It is for 160 acres in township 11 N, Range 28 E.⁶
Sarah, age 64, was enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Porterville Township, Tulare County, California. She is a lodger in the household of Abbot Darnell.⁷ Sarah worked as a housekeeper.⁷ Sarah, age 77, was enumerated in the household of her daughter, Nevada, and son-in-law, Roy B. Heard, on the 1930 Federal Census at North G Street in Tulare Township, Tulare County, California.¹ Follow the link to see the census image. Sarah and Kansas may be the same person. They have the same last name and have other similarities.
